I will be participating in the Easter Art Tour again this year, on Saltspring Island. The Salt Spring Easter Art Tour is an annual self-guided Artist Studio and Gallery tour. I have had my studio open for the easter long weekend on and off since the tour started ten years ago. A sponsored program of the Salt Spring Arts Council, the Tour showcases the Fine Arts including painting, sculpture and photography. There is lots of art to see in Ganges and it has been my experience that getting out and driving around the island to see the artist's studios on a cold rainy weekend takes an adventurous spirit and perhaps warped idea of fun. Hopefully it will be lovely warm spring weather this weekend, but a few years ago the whole weekend was blustery wet weather that was so wild that I felt the two people who made it to my studio deserved a medal. Luckily my woodstove was going well and they could dry off a bit. :)
I will be taking part in the group show this year at Mahon Hall in Ganges, from March 25 - April 3rd. There will be an opening reception at the hall on Friday the 25th, from 6-9pm.

I will be in my studio or garden this Easter weekend, the weather dictating if I will be in or out. Visitors are welcome although a phone call would be a good idea. My studio is located on High Hill Rd, which is off Baker Rd, just 2 km north of Ganges.
Web and mobile users can apparently use the handy online list of participating locations along with images of the artists' work, contact and web info as well as a google map to the studios which all sounds far too high tech for me.
It's primula time in the garden!

I will also have small paintings, photo cards and small prints and paintings on wood blocks for sale and a few giclees.
Look for my new painting of apple blossoms at Mahon Hall, titled 'Oh to be an Apple,' and I hope to see you at my studio this Easter long weekend!
Happy Spring!
